Mission/History

Our Mission:
High levels of learning for ALL!

Our Vision:
To be recognized state-wide as a top performing elementary.

Our History:
Deer Park Elementary was built in 1968 at a cost of $1,100,920, and the building opened for classes on September 2, 1969. The 91,381 square foot school plant was originally built with a totally "open concept" design to accommodate an instructional program which included non-gradedness and team teaching. As the year progressed, the non-graded program was discontinued in favor of a more traditional approach. In addition, walls were built to separate grade levels into "pods", maintaining the open concept design within each grade level.
