All About Me!
Hello and welcome to my page! My name is Marty Hooks, and I am a second-grade teacher here at DPE. This will be my fifth year here at DPE, but my 16th year of teaching. I am so excited to be teaching at the school where my three oldest kids have grown up in. Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I love second grade and all the exploring, learning, and fun we get to have!
I graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School, and I continued my education at Lamar University where I met my husband, Tobey. We have four amazing and very active children. Tate is a senior at DPHS-South campus. He plays for the DPHS Varsity baseball team. Emma is a 9th grader at DPHS-North. She plays for the DPHS JV volleyball team. She also plays club volleyball for Houston Stellar. Ella is in second grade here at DPE and she also plays volleyball. Colt is four and loves all the boy stuff. We also have a 10-year-old black lab named Lucy. There is definitely not a dull moment in our home:) We spend most of our time at sporting events watching our three oldest play the sports they love. When we are not on a field or court, we love to travel and explore new places. We also love going to the lake and the beach.
My goal for this school year is to provide educational opportunities that will challenge and develop your child’s growth. I look forward to teaching your sweet kiddos and getting to know them a well. We are going to have a fantastic year!
