Welcome to Mrs. Cathey's Bio Page

 

I am so excited to start this school year in 5th grade and see what all it has in store.  It is going to be best year yet so get ready and hang on!!

 

Here is a little information about me for you to know.  I grew up in Deer Park and graduated from DPISD in 2008.  I attended Texas A&M University (class of 2012 WHOOP!) and had my first two jobs in Marketing at a Credit Union and then an Emergency Room.  I enjoyed these positions but knew I wanted to be in the classroom helping our youth learn so I completed my certification to become a teacher through Texas Teachers.  I am married to a wonderful man named Chase (My high school sweetheart) and we have a son, Preston (starting first grade this year),  and a little girl, Harper (will be four in September).  My babies are my whole world!  I have 3 sisters, one brother-in-law and an 13 year old nephew that we get to see often which is wonderful since I love family time.  I spend my spare time hanging out with family and friends having some fun in the sun.  

 

I have taught at Fairmont Elementary and Deer Park Elementary in my teaching career. I am so excited to be back and starting my 6th year at DPE with you...this is where I started my teaching career with long term sub positions in 2017.  I work hard at my job, I prioritize and use time wisely so my students and I can both have some fun.  I look forward to meeting all my new students soon!
